So many things to crochet…so little time

Since I finished crocheting a dress for Elsie to wear to her dedication ceremony (see below)  I’ve been wondering what to crochet next.

The back of Elsie's dedication dress.

I’ve been going though some magazines and looking online for some inspiration and have found a couple of funky things.

This cushion and blanket is just so gorgeous , the colours really compliment each other.

Some crochet pillows

These cushions show how several different cushions work well as a set, even though they’ve been made using different methods of crochet, as they’ve been made using the same yarns.

Apple cosies (featured in Mollie Makes)

I loved these apple cosies when I saw them featured in Mollie Makes magazine. This is a really inspiring magazine which features articles on all sorts of designers and their wonderful products.

Pear coasters (featured in Mollie Makes)

These pear coasters caught my eye due to their unusual shape, I’ve seen other designs featuring apples as well.

Crochet amigurumi

Amigurumi have fascinated me for a while now. I was lucky enough to get a book of amigurumi crochet for my birthday last year from my girls, so I’ll have to decide which item to make. Maybe I’ll just hand Poppy the book and ask her to decide – or maybe that would be dangerous.

So as you can see crochet can be used to make fun things as well as the practical. I think I’ll have to pay a visit to the wool shop and see what yarns they have to get the juices flowing.

I’ll keep you posted.
