Today I went into my back garden to hang out the washing, I thought to myself that it really is autumn now. The lawn is covered with leaves that have fallen off the sycamore tree however our little apple tree is still clinging onto some of its fruit.
I also saw some little mushrooms by the gate and thought they’d look good in a photo with my little girls tiny (size 4) wellington boots.
While I had my little camera out I thought I’d take a couple of photos of the current crochet project I’m working on.
I’m making a granny square blanket for a friend who had a baby boy. I chose to make granny squares in blue, green, brown and grey Stylecraft DK yarn then go round each square with some cream coloured yarn.
I’m not quite finished as you can see, I still have 6 squares to crochet round in the cream then I’ll crochet all the squares together and maybe do cream round the whole blanket. I also haven’t decided on the finished arrangement of the colours so that will probably change from the above photo.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Have a great weekend yourself. I’m attempting my first natural dye job with Marigold blossoms that I picked yesterday because we were to have our first frost last night. Autumn IS here and so far I’m enjoying it. I love the squares and look forward to seeing the finished product.
ooh interesting, I’ve heard about dying materials with natures owns dyes but never attempted it myself. Take lots of photos of the process and I’ll have a look when you post them.
I love autumn too and your blanket colors are perfect! Very nice!
I love that photo with the wellies!! Its amazing!!
