During the summer I do more reading than at any other time of the year. I don’t know if it’s due to the days being longer or if it’s because I take the majority of my work holidays during the summer.
Anywho – I thought I’d share a book I’ve just recently finished reading – The Sentinel by Holly Martin.
This is available as an ebook from Amazon for 77p at the minute. I found out about this book from a Tweet I saw from a fellow book blogger and with the tagline reading “What if saving the world meant losing everything?” I just had to download it.
(Before I continue I must say that if you’re not on Twitter give it a go – I’ve made new friends, taken part in book online book chats and found out about new craft products/books that I would not have done without Twitter.)
The book is a young adult fantasy/adventure focusing on 17 year old Eve whose world and identity is shattered following a coach crash – on page 1! Yes this book will have you hooked from the very first page. I don’t want to say too much about it but if you like any of the Twilight, Divergent or Harry Potter books then you will really like this one. I’ve read a couple of excellent books this year but I decided to give this one a shout out as it doesn’t have a big publishing machine working on it’s behalf.
I really enjoyed this book – so much so that as soon as I’d finished it I tweeted Holly ( @hollymartin00 ) to ask when the sequel would be available (in the next couple months hopefully).
If you are looking for a fast paced read (I finished the 319 pages in 2 days) then I’d really recommend that you get this.

I haven’t seen this book, but decades ago I saw a movie by the same title, and boy was it scary creepy. It starred Christina Raines.
Have a great week,
Marianne
Ooh, sounds fun 🙂 I’m trying to read 23 books before my 23rd birthday, and although I’ve just started I’m already on the lookout for new books, and this certainly sounds like it fits the bill!
I have added this to my wishlist 😉
