Stranger Things socks

The summer break seems to be my productive time for making things and I have knit 5 items since my last blog post.

The first I’m sharing with you is my Stranger Things socks, named as I knit the majority of them whilst watching the 3rd season of the Netflix TV show.

I wanted a simple design that I could knit while watching TV so I used my basic sock pattern with afterthought heels (star toe).

I don’t know about you but I knit so fast when watching something exciting. I actually started them on holiday in England at the start of July but didn’t really work on them much- we were just having too much fun away.

Once we got home it took several days to finish the pair (of which 4 evenings were spent watching the show). These are for my eldest daughter as she’s grown out of her old handknit socks, on the plus side, it means my youngest has loads of woolly socks.

  1. Jean, these are adorable. I’ve been expanding my knitting horizons in very simple ways, but I can’t imagine making socks. Yours are delightful, as everything you make. And what joy, that the ones you made by hand for your daughter will still be enjoyed by her sister. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to your other projects.

    Blessings,
    Marianne
